Wednesday's Top Prep Performers: Local teams shine at Coach C Classic

Highlights from Wednesday in high school sports:

BOYS BASKETBALL

  • Austin Maziasz finished with 26 points and 13 rebounds, Kayden Elsokary had 19 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals, Danny Bao contributed 12 points and four rebounds, and Daniel Malouf added nine points to lead Westlake (2-0) to a 69-61 overtime win over Brentwood in the Coach C Classic at Santa Clara High.

  • Elias Chin finished with 22 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds and six steals, Trent MacLean had 20 points, six rebounds and three steals, Garrett Powell scored 15 points, and Jacob Burton hit four 3-pointers for 12 points to lead Thousand Oaks (3-0) to a 93-50 win over Dunn in the Coach C Classic at Santa Clara High.

  • Ryder Mjoen scored 23 points and Justin Rener had 17 points as Simi Valley improved to 4-0 wih a 57-42 victory over Valencia in the Coach C Classic at Santa Clara High.

  • Marcos Ramirez had 21 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals, David Giron had 17 points and six assists, and Nathaniel Gomez finished with eight points, five rebounds and five steals to lead Oxnard (3-1) to a 73-18 win over Santa Clara in the Coach C Classic at Santa Clara High.

  • Seshsha Henderson dropped in 27 points, Steven Melina scored 13 points and Jadon Holmes grabbed nine rebounds to lead Oak Park (3-1) to a 65-49 win over Agoura in the West Valley Tournament at Chaminade High. Peter Iba scored 12 points, Lukas Friedlander had eight points, and DJ Jacob and Ethan Mubito each added six points for the Chargers (0-2).

  • Tidiane Sy scored 23 points, Grayson Coleman finished with 22 points, 13 assists and seven rebounds, and Aidan Dorel had 11 points as Calabasas improved to 4-0 with a 76-14 over Northridge Academy in the West Valley Tournament at Chaminade High.

  • Brett Johnson scored 14 points, Andrew Logan had nine points and six rebounds, and Troy McGovern had nine points for Oaks Christian (1-2) in its 46-42 loss to Shalhevet West Valley Tournament at Chaminade High.

  • Nazir Ivey scored 21 points and Jevon Bobbsemple and Rajai Moody each finished with 17 points to lead Channel Islands (3-3) to a 67-51 victory over La Puente in the San Gabriel Tournament.

  • Jayden Iyer scored 17 points, Wakine Molina had 14 points and Josh Ullegue had eight points for Buena (5-1) in its 56-45 loss to Vista Murrieta.

  • Freshman guard David Alvarez set the Santa Paula record for 3-pointers in a game with eight and finished with 29 points, all-tournament selection Jose Valdovinos scored 15 points, and JJ De Santiago added six points for Cardinals (3-1) in their 76-59 loss to Murrieta Mesa in the championship game of the Jurupa Hills Tournament.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

  • Christa Contreras scored 20 points, Emerson Martin had nine points, Elizabeth Rocha contributed seven points, Daniela Rocha had five points, Angelina Rivera had four points, and Annie O'Connell added three points to lead host Camarillo (4-1) to a 47-45 victory over Buena. Karisma Lewis had 20 points and seven rebounds and Skye Thomas finished with 14 points and 16 rebounds for the Bulldogs (3-1).

BOYS SOCCER

  • Jared Ramos scored a goal off an assist from Alejandro Ayala as Fillmore (2-0-1) earned a 1-1 draw with Buena.
