Wednesday Seacoast roundup: Khalsa nets two goals as Dover boys hockey wins third straight

DOVER - The Dover High School boys hockey team skated to its second shutout of the season and its third straight Division II win with a 7-0 victory over Timberlane on Wednesday at Dover Ice Arena.

The Green Wave jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first period and took a 5-0 lead into the third.

After a 3-3-3 start to the season, Dover is now 6-3-3.

"Happy that the boys are keeping it moving in the right direction," Dover head coach Mike Young said. "We've won a couple in a row, and I was happy to get some guys some ice time tonight who work hard in practice."

Dover's Caleb Marasca opened the scoring with a goal in the game's first minute. Additionally, Aram Khalsa scored two goals, while Bryan Dionne, Grant Davis, Tyler Buchanon, Ben Zbikowski all had one.

Patrick Carroll had three assists, Logan Delisle had two, and Carter Bell, Khalsa, Griffin Koellmer, Buchanon and Dionne all had one.

BOYS HOCKEY

Winnacunnet 12

Monadnock 0

EXETER - Senior Brady Thompson had three goals and nine teammates all had one as Winnacunnet rolled to this Division II win at Phillips Exeter Academy.

Winnacunnet is now 10-1 on the season.

Brock Emery, Brayden Emery, Alex Santora, Nolan Rennie, Cayden Dion, Ian McCormick, Tyler Blank, and Ivan Brandt all scored in the win. For Brandt, it was his first varsity goal.

Winnacunnet's Owen Helton and Mikey Caponigro combined for nine saves and the shutout.

Goffstown 4

Spaulding 3

ROCHESTER - Ryan Dube, Cole Enman and Leighton Ducharme all scored for Spaulding (5-4-2) in this Division II loss at Rochester Ice Arena.

Dube added two assists, while Owen Nesbitt, Wil Godbout, Trevor Brennan and Tyler Jean all had one. Spaulding goalie Collin McIntyre had 19 saves.

Portsmouth/Newmarket 3

DOVER - Dom Eaton, Cal Rothstein and Turner Leduc all scored for Portsmouth in this Division II contest at Dover Ice Arena.

Alvirne 4

St. Thomas Aquinas 3

DOVER - Jackson Estes had two goals and one assist for St. Thomas Aquinas (4-8) in this Division II loss at Dover Ice Arena.

Brandon MacGaughey had a goal and an assist for the Saints, who got 34 saves from goalie Gavin Brayne.

Windham 8

Exeter 4

SALEM - Cam Keaveney scored two goals, and Joe Crowe and Brady Smith both had one for Exeter in this Division I loss at the Icenter.

Eddie Hannan had three assists for the Blue Hawks, while West Vaillant and Matt Wallace both had two, and Connor Jaworski one.

Exeter goalie Trent Fujitani had 24 saves.

EXETER - Lilyan Blood and Madison Mann each scored two goals for Exeter in this Division I loss at The Rinks at Exeter.

Kaelyn Cooper had two assists for the Blue Hawks, while Mann and Amelia Bonafede both had one. Exeter goalie Marie Monge had 18 saves.

HOOKSETT - Eliza Farwell, Kira Jakobs and Sienne Metcalf each scored a goal for the ClipperCats in this Division I loss to undefeated Berlin.

Berlin goalie Olivia O'Neil had 31 saves.

EXETER - Brady Rogers scored eight of his game-high 20 points in overtime as Exeter improved to 6-4 with this Division I win.

Jack Thibodeau added 13 points for the Blue Hawks, while Nate McNeff and Nik Greco both had 12.

DOVER - The Eagles had four players score in double figures, leading to this Division IV win.

Connor Hickey led PCA (9-5) with 16 points, while Cai Summers had 15, Zealand Marquis 13 and Isaac Kohl 10.

Parker Sweitzer led Newmarket (5-8) with 31 points, while Jaron LaBranche and Matt Napoletano both had 11.

SOMERSWORTH - Lean Pena's eight points led Somersworth in this Division III game. Caya Gonzalez had seven points for the Hilltoppers, and teammates Audrey labelle and Jaiden Timmons played well.

DOVER - Amaya Beckles had a team-high 11 points and Kiara Rugora, Jillian Long and Lydia Edgerly all had six for Newmarket in this Division IV win.

Ava Buchanan led PCA (8-6) with 12 points.

WRESTLING

Spaulding 69

Manchester West 0

ROCHESTER - Spaulding swept this Division II match thanks to four wins by pins, three by points and the rest by forfeit.

Collin Jacques (126 pounds), Noah Lallas (150), Maverick Hope (157) and Evan Couture (215) all won by pin, and Dylan Gravallese (132, 14-1), Jackson Morgan (165, 11-2) and Connor Tune (190, 10-5) won by points.

GIRLS ALPINE SKIING

Marshwood's Prewitt places first

BRIDGTON, Maine – Marshwood’s Hadley Prewitt had a combined time of 1:03.47 and placed first in a six-team giant slalom at Pleasant Mountain.

Falmouth won with a team score of 18, while Kennebunk (50), Scarborough (57) and Marshwood (60) rounded out the top four, respectively.

Other Marshwood skiers included Sarah McClellan (16th, 1:16.33), Olivia Drake (21st, 1:18.51) and Annika Oberg (22nd, 1:18.85).

Marshwood's Maguire places first

BRIDGTON, Maine – Marshwood’s Quinn Maguire had a combined time of 1:01.41 and placed first in a seven-team giant slalom at Pleasant Mountain.

Falmouth won with a team score of 16, while Marshwood (34) placed second.

Other Marshwood skiers included Lucas Glidden (eighth, 1:08.99), Troy Bascio (12th, 1:11.26) and Reid Chamberlain (13th, 1:11.60).

PORTSMOUTH - Riley Willard's eight points led Dover to this win.

For Portsmouth, Adrianna Marcus had a game-high 14 points, while Ash Markley had six. Niko Killinger and Josh Gross both scored four points for the Clippers, and Zach Gellar, Anya Gronblom, CJ Edwards, and Jazzlyn Johnson-Timmons all had two.

Marguax Freer and Stella Kozikowski played well defensively for the Clippers.
