Weather forecast for Dolphins’ Week 6 matchup versus Jets

The Miami Dolphins are one day away from game day — and with a new week comes a new challenge. This week, the Dolphins are faced a task that they have yet to achieve this season: securing a win inside the AFC East. The good news? While the Dolphins were tested greatly by the Buffalo Bills and the New England Patriots in the first two games of the season, Miami will get a much different test from their Week 6 opponent: the New York Jets.

But will the weather be among the variables at play that could cause chaos as the Dolphins attempt to move to .500 on the season ahead of their bye next week? Here is the updated weather forecast for Sunday’s 4:05PM EST kickoff against New York.

Location: Hard Rock Stadium — Miami Gardens, FL

  • Temperature at kickoff: 82 degrees

    • Feels like: 90 degrees

  • Percent rain: 55%

  • Humidity: 77%

  • Wind: 10 mph

Miami’s home field advantage hasn’t done the team much good to this point in the year, they’re 0-3 and home thus far and have struggled to take advantage of their late-game conditioning in the Florida humidity against the likes of Buffalo and Seattle in close games. But if all goes according to play in Week 6, there won’t be a close game late and the Dolphins will avoid the trap game that is lurking for them if they choose to embrace some of the hype coming off of a big win over the San Francisco 49ers.

The change of rain will be something that could get this game off script, but Miami is ultimately better in the trenches on both sides of the football and that should play to their advantage, even if it is wet.
