WC's Fretwell is tie down roping champ at Odessa Rodeo

Feb. 28—Weatherford College's Cash Fretwell walked away with the tie down roping championship belt buckle at the Odessa College Rodeo last weekend.

Fretwell tied for third in the first round with a 9.0 and placed second in the second round with an 8.7 to have a top score of 17.7.

After a first-place time of 8.8 in the first round, Pax Vogel finished seventh with 21.6. Zane Rampey finished fifth, and Lane Webb eighth.

Brayden Bruton placed fifth in breakaway roping. Teammate Landry Wren tied for ninth/10th.

In saddle bronc, Mitchie Story was fifth overall with a 153, and Jackson Ford finished sixth with a 152.

Mason Stueve and Trey Adams placed third in team roping. Lane Webb and Beau West finished eighth.

Colton Green placed fourth in steer wrestling. Briley Reeves was fifth in barrel racing.

The WC team travels to Sweetwater for the Ranger College/Cisco College Rodeo on March 21 — 23.
