How to watch, stream 2022 Scripps National Spelling Bee Final (Hint: It's not on ESPN anymore)

For 27 years, ESPN televised the Scripps National Spelling Bee. That agreement expired this year, and the E.W. Scripps Company moved the production to its own network, ION.

The 2022 competition will also air on Bounce.

Too often, Bee head judge Mary Brooks says, the timing of the NBA Finals would present scheduling and resource conflicts with ESPN.

"Now that it’s ION, pretty much it’s our game again," she told USA TODAY.

Scripps now owns the rights to Bee footage going forward.

"We think we're really providing a wonderful opportunity for as many people to watch as possible," said David Hudson, head of programming for Scripps Network.
