Watch: Seattle Mariners' Jarred Kelenic crushes 482-foot homer at Wrigley Field

It's raining home runs for Seattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic.

Kelenic crushed a 482-foot homer into the center-field upper deck at Wrigley Field in the Mariners' 5-2 win over the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday to avoid a series sweep.

His third homer in as many games is the second-longest home run at Wrigley Field in the Statcast Era, including postseason, according to MLB Stats. (His shot only trails Willson Contreras' 491-footer in Game 4 of the 2017 NL Championship Series.)

It also marks the second-longest home run of the 2023 MLB season, only behind New York Yankees slugger's Giancarlo Stanton 485-foot homer against San Francisco on April 2.

The Mariners hit back-to-back homers in the top of the eighth inning.

First, Mariners outfielder Teoscar Hernández hit a 419-foot home run to left center off Cubs pitcher Julian Merryweather. Kelenic stepped in the box next and hit it even harder. Their homers helped Seattle stop a two-game skid against the Cubs, who took the first two in the series .

Kelenic also singled to center in the second inning to extend his hitting streak to a career-best seven games. Though 11 games, Kelenic has a .351 batting average and .415 on-base percentage.
