WATCH: Ryan Day talks about C.J. Stroud’s upcoming season and future development with Jim Rome

Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud is poised for what many hope is a big, big year in Columbus. In fact, if he makes the type of progress he did from not throwing a college pass to becoming a Heisman finalist, you can expect the 2022 OSU football season to be a wild ride, one that has a chance to end with some confetti falling.

Head coach Ryan Day likes to temper those expectations though. He knows that Stroud progressed significantly over the course of the season last year, but that’s all behind him now. What the redshirt sophomore has to focus on now is continued development and improvement to take his game to the next level.

Day took some time to discuss Stroud’s development, mindset, and future with Jim Rome on Thursday. As he always is, Day was introspective and calming in his look at what we can expect from Stroud this fall. He heaped praise but then stayed away from calling him a finished product.

Check out all that Day said when speaking with Rome and get ready to soak in all that we might see from Stroud with one more offseason of seasoning under center for Ohio State.

We’re still a few months away from any live college football coming to the ‘Shoe, but that doesn’t stop us from getting excited for the type of things we might see on the banks of the Olentangy in 2022.
