Watch: Rutgers basketball recruiting: Daveyon Lydner is having a strong summer

It has been a big summer so far for Daveyon Lydner, who has certainly looked the part as one of the area’s next bigtime basketball recruits. Offered by Rutgers basketball in May, Lynder’s stock is continuing to soar.

A 6-foot-3 guard, Lydner is class of 2025 recruit who is certainly building some buzz about his game. As a sophomore at William Penn (York, PA) Lydner averaged 17.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.

This summer, he has showcased a skillset that could (and should) see him become one of the top point guards in the nation. He is confident on the dribble, a solid passer and is explosive in getting to the rim. He is consistent in his outside shooting and has a very strong floor presence as well.

Check out some of these highlights from Lydner. It is likely that Rutgers won’t be his only offer for too long:

 

 

 

The 2024 recruiting class is shaping up to be a strong one for Rutgers. It currently features five-star Airious ‘Ace’ Bailey as well as a pair of four stars in Lathan Sommerville and Bryce Dortch.
