Jonesville’s win has pushed them back into the playoff race for Division 7. Jonesville currently stands as the last team in with 25.125 points. There are several 4-4 teams ahead of Jonesville in the standings, and one 3-5 team. Right now, Jonesville’s playoff path is clear. Win their Cascades Crossover game, and they are in.

While the official schedule has not yet been confirmed, the Comets will most likely match up with the Addison Panthers for their crossover game. Many Comet fans will recall last season’s matchup between the two programs, who met for the Cascades Crossover Championship Game. Jonesville pulled away for a 20-14 lead thanks to the passing attack of Cowen Keller and the receiving efforts of former Comet Curtis Knapp.

After starting the season 4-1, Addison has lost three straight games to Union City, Grass Lake, and Napoleon. All three games were double-digit losses. They lost in week eight to Napoleon 18-36. Despite their 4-4 record, Addison is 27th in the Division 8 playoff standings with 25.875 points.

The game would be played at Jonesville High School on Oct. 21 at 7:00 p.m. Jonesville went into Addison to defeat them to earn an undefeated season last fall. With both teams at 4-4, playoffs could be on the line at Jonesville and Addison will look to return the favor on the road. Instead of playing for an undefeated season and a championship, both teams are looking to officially secure their spot in their respective playoffs.

There is the possibility that the loser of the matchup still makes the playoffs at 4-5 overall, but both teams will not want to be put into that position heading into selection Sunday. Stay up to date at Hillsdale.net to find out the official schedule for the Comets in week nine.
