LeBron James' son Bronny James showed out during a workout at the NBA combine ahead of the 2024 NBA draft.

Bronny, who declared for the NBA draft earlier this year while maintaining his college eligibility while also entering the NCAA transfer portal, raised eyebrows with the decision to test the draft waters this early into his collegiate career.

As a freshman at USC, Bronny averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. While those numbers leave a lot to be desired for an NBA hopeful, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst relayed on ESPN's “Get Up” that league scouts hold Bronny in higher esteem than his stats would otherwise indicate.

“The scouts believe that Bronny played out of position this year,” Windhorst said at around the 2:27 mark of the video. “They think he actually might be better than what he’s shown.”

And while it’s still extremely early in the process, the tale of the tape showing Bronny shooting around in an open gym workout shows the scouts might be onto something.

Bronny lit it up at the NBA combine, cashing 11 consecutive 3-pointers from all around the arc over the course of a minute.

Yes, grain of salt, as Bronny was shooting around in an open gym, but players who can knock down shots from long range almost always have value at the NBA level as floor-spacers for their teammates.

How tall is Bronny James?

While Bronny's shooting display is going viral, fans are also pointing out a perceived negative of LeBron's son coming out of the NBA combine, as his measured height was 6'1.50" without shoes at the combine.

In a game that can sometimes value height over talent, that measurement may hinder James throughout the draft process, as he'd be viewed as an undersized guard at the NBA level.

Although cynical fans seem to be writing off the younger James due to his height, he certainly made up for it with his showing during the vertical leap drill.

Bronny recorded a 40.50 inch vertical, which was fourth-best of all the participants

Perhaps LeBron's eldest son should run it back for another college season to prove he can thrive in a better situation. Pedigree aside, though, there's plenty to like from Bronny out of his NBA combine workout.
