WATCH: Karl Dorrell speaks to the media following Colorado’s first preseason practice

Regardless of the expectations, there’s always a special excitement around the first day of fall camp.

It hasn’t been an ideal offseason for Colorado, but some of that gets pushed aside when the focus shifts to who’s in your locker room rather than who’s not. You could also say the same for the Pac-12.

At least from what I’ve seen, Karl Dorrell is entering his third season at the helm with a little more confidence. He crafted a new coaching staff this offseason and was complimentary of the offseason work his Buffs put in. More of that optimism was seen on Tuesday when Dorrell spoke to the media after CU’s first fall camp practice. Among other topics, Dorrell discussed the quarterback competition, the new offense and what newcomers have impressed.
