The Kansas City Chiefs (6-1) look to stay undefeated in AFC West play as they face the Denver Broncos (2-5) at Empower Field at Mile High Sunday afternoon. The Chiefs have three games in hand on the rest of their division. A loss here wouldn't mean much in terms of their chances at a division title, but Patrick Mahomes has never lost to the Broncos in his career, and he certainly doesn't want that streak to end this weekend.

While Mahomes is in the middle of the worst statistical season of his career, the team has not suffered in the win department. Their 6-1 record is on par with where the team was in both 2020 and 2018 with Mahomes under center. While neither of those teams went on to win the Super Bowl, both at least reached the conference championship. That said, Kansas City's +73 point differential in 2023 is the worst mark of those three seasons through seven games.

Denver, on the other hand, is just looking for any glimpse of hope for the future.

The team secured a big win over Green Bay last week and the defense looked surprisingly sharp given their ineptitude through the first six weeks.

Does this mean the team is turning their season around? Probably not. It took that defense's best effort of the year in order for the Broncos to beat Green Bay by two points. Kansas City won't be such an easy offense to take down. After all, they've already beaten the Broncos this year, a 19-8 win on Thursday Night Football in Week 6. That game was at Arrowhead though. Perhaps a game at home will give the Broncos the edge they need to take down the Kansas City behemoth. Here's how to watch.
