The Boston Celtics have a new backup floor general in veteran point guard Jeff Teague, who spoke to the media on Friday for the first time as a Celtic.

The Indianapolis native spent the bulk of his career with the Atlanta Hawks with stints playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves and his hometown Indiana Pacers before joining Boston this offseason.

Teague fielded questions about how he plans to help the team in starting point guard Kemba Walker’s early-season absence, his thoughts on the team’s young core and what his veteran mindset can do to help the team as they prepare for a deep postseason run.

The Wake Forest product also spoke on being reunited with former teammate and now assistant coach Evan Turner, and his thoughts on joining the team as it gears up to try and win a title.
