WATCH: Chris Olave catches his first touchdown pass as a Saint

That’s what you love to see. Chris Olave scored the first touchdown of his New Orleans Saints career, catching a 4-yard pass from backup quarterback Andy Dalton midway through the second quarter. The NFL Offensive Player of the Month for September has created plenty of big plays through the air but this is the first time he’s hit pay dirt in his rookie year.

There were some questions about how effectively Olave could play without Jameis Winston sending deep passes his way on a prayer each week, but he’s already converted a first down with an 11-yard grab and scored this red zone touchdown in a short-yardage situation. He may have been cast as a deep threat in New Orleans early on, but Olave’s success attacking every level of the field at Ohio State was a factor that put him on the Saints’ radar in the first place. Here’s to many more highlight reel-worthy plays from the first-year pro.
