Warriors' Game 6 rally towel honors Oracle Arena finale with a nod to Kevin Durant
Stephen Curry sent out the rally cry to the Golden State Warriors and they made it happen. Now in another must-win Game 6 against the Toronto Raptors, the rally cry has met the rally towel.
The Warriors, trailing 3-2 in the series, will play their final game at Oracle Arena and do it without Kevin Durant, who underwent surgery on a ruptured Achilles. To honor the city it brought three championships and the player who helped do it — the one Curry told his teammates to “do this for Kevin” up against elimination in Game 5 — the Warriors will have one final rally towel awaiting fans.

The script “For Oakland” features a stacked “KD” in white lettering. Durant played in his first game in over a month this week after returning from a calf injury. He exited shortly into the second quarter with an Achilles injury. His surgery Wednesday was successful and he’ll be out for the entirety of next season.

The moment was emotional for most of the organization, from president of basketball operations Bob Myers’ postgame press conference to Wanda Durant recalling the “anguish” in her son’s eyes on television. That motivation will be necessary in two more games for the Warriors to win another title.
The team will move to Chase Center in San Francisco next season after nearly 50 years in Oakland. Tickets for Game 6 are at record levels, per FOX Business. A Game 7, if necessary, returns to the series to Toronto.
