Warriors fans troll Drake with billboard near his Toronto home

Drake may be a noted Raptors fan, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t pledged allegiance to NBA markets south of the border in the past.

When you become an international rap icon, friendships with NBA players often comes with the territory, and Drake certainly has plenty of friends throughout the league. But with the Raptors battling the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals, a few of those friends have become frenemies — at least for now.

The Toronto rapper is pretty tight with Steph Curry and Kevin Durant, so much so that he’s been forced to cover up the tattoos on his left bicep that he’s dedicated to the Warriors superstars during the Finals. He even documented his Bay-area fandom in the lyrics to his 2012 song, The Motto.

And with this funny stunt, two Warriors fans are doing everything they can to make sure Drizzy doesn’t forget his allegiance to the Bay Area — and late local legend Mac Dre — ahead of Game 4.

It’s pretty good work, considering Drake has been trolling the Warriors at every turn during the early stages of the NBA Finals. But as we’ve seen with the alleged Drake curse, courting the rapper’s fandom might not be the best course of action.

We’ll have to see what Drake has up his sleeve when this series returns to Toronto for Game 5.
