Warriors fall behind early in loss to East Jessamine

Apr. 1—In the midst of a three-game winning streak, Southwestern made a Saturday afternoon trip to East Jessamine to take on the defending 12th Region champions, with the Jaguars winning five of their last six. They fell behind early to East Jessamine as well after a five-run second inning for their opponents and eventually their winning streak was snapped courtesy of a 9-4 loss.

The Warriors were led by Lexi Martin, Arabella Lowery and Danielle Taylor with one RBI apiece. Kylie Dalton collected three hits, with Macie Gwin and Zoie Lowery also each getting a hit. Gwin's hit was the sole double of the day for the Warriors. Brynn Troxell, Taylor and Haiden Allen each collected a stolen base. Abigail Whitescarver had the loss on the mound, going four innings while allowing eight runs on seven hits with five walks and three strikeouts. Jayla Singleton pitched the final two innings in relief, allowing just one run on two hits with no walks and two strikeouts. East Jessamine was led by sophomore Natalie Alimento with five RBI's and a home run.

Southwestern falls to 7-4 and will be off for Spring Break, returning to action next Monday as they travel to Oneida, Tenn.
