Warner drops to No. 2 in Class 9A football and Castlewood now rated in Class B volleyball
Watertown High School's football and volleyball teams are among 12 area squads rated this week in the South Dakota Prep Media Polls.
The Arrow football team fell to 2-1 with a home loss to Yankton but remains No. 4 in Class 11AA. The Arrow volleyball team (6-2) is still No. 4 in Class AA.
Warner (3-0) dropped from No. 1 to No. 2 in Class 9A football and Castlewood (6-1) leaped into the No. 4 spot in Class B volleyball.
Other area rated football teams included Sioux Valley (4-0), No. 2 in 11B; Hamlin (4-0), No. 2 in Class 9AA; Elkton-Lake Benton (4-0), No. 4 in Class 9AA; and Faulkton Area (4-0), De Smet (3-1), Hitchcock-Tulare (3-1) and Herreid-Selby Area (3-1) No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5, respectively, in Class 9B.
Aberdeen Central (1-2 in Class 11AA) and Deuel (4-0 in Class 11B) also received votes this week.
Warner (15-0) is still No. 1 and Northwestern (7-3) No. 3 in Class B volleyball. Aberdeen Central, 6-1 in Class AA, and Mobridge-Pollock, 8-0 in Class A, also received votes this week.
