Votes are in: Patriot Ledger/Enterprise's Girls Lacrosse Preseason Player of the Year

It's going by fast. The high school girls lacrosse season has already reached its midway point.

Votes came in waves for the 33 nominees in our Girls Lacrosse Preseason Player of the Year poll. The final results are in.

Archbishop Williams' Clare O'Keefe amassed over 32,865 votes to receive the honor. Her votes accounted for 56 percent of the total poll (58,406 votes).

O'Keefe, a junior midfielder, tallied her 100th career goal as a league All-Star selection last season. She returned this spring as a two-way threat for the Bishops.

"She is consistently motivated to push herself and her teammates to a higher level of play," coach Ceci Hodgkins said in the preseason.

Whitman-Hanson's Bailey Kelly (11,516 votes), Cardinal Spellman's Elle Murphy (4,906 votes), Norwell's Danielle Cox (1,708 votes) and Marshfield's Anna Sullivan (1,319 votes) also received significant support.
