Vote for the Storm Works Roofing High School Girls Athlete of the Week for Sept. 23-29

GNB Voc-Tech’s Kendra Santiago was voted the Storm Works & Roofing High School Girls Athlete of the Week for Sept. 16-22. She received more than 2,500 votes (39%) to earn the honor.

Santiago recorded a combined eight goals and one assist in a pair of wins for Voc-Tech.

Previous winners were Old Colony’s McKenna Benoit and Apponequet’s Jaida Beaulieu.

Hailey Desmarais, Apponequet

Desmarais won the varsity 5K (19:42.9) at the MSTCA Franklin Park Invite.

Lauren Kelly, Dartmouth

Kelly took second (22:55) for undefeated Dartmouth in a win over Durfee.

GIRLS SOCCER

Jaida Beaulieu, Apponequet

Beaulieu had one goal and one assist for the Lakers in a 3-0 win over GNB Voc-Tech.

Izzy Bromage, Bishop Stang

In two games, Bromage had a combined four goals.

Leah Butter, Bishop Stang

Butter had her first career hat trick in Stang’s 9-0 win over Cathedral.

Sarah Kelly, Dartmouth

Kelly scored Dartmouth’s lone goal in a 1-0 win over North Attleboro.

Kendra Santiago, GNB Voc-Tech

In a 5-0 win over Southeastern, Santiago had two goals and two assists.

Ollie Costa, New Bedford

Costa has the Whalers’ lone goal in a 1-1 tie with Falmouth.

Brooke Bastarache, Old Colony

Bastarache had a combined two goals in two games for the Cougars.

Audrey Thomas, Old Rochester

Thomas notched three goals and one assist in a 5-0 win over Case.

FIELD HOCKEY

Brynn McLaughlin, Apponequet

McLaughlin had a combined three goals in two games for the Lakers.

Molly Kippe, Bishop Stang

Kippe had both of Stang’s goals in a 2-0 win over Old Rochester.

Grace Haskell, Dartmouth

In two games, Haskell had a combined four goals and two assists.

Kallie Rose, Dartmouth

Rose scored the winning goal for undefeated Dartmouth in a 1-0 victory over Dennis-Yarmouth.

Madison Lewis, Fairhaven

Lewis had two goals and one assist as the Blue Devils beat Southeastern for their first win of the season.

Reilly Patraiko, Old Rochester

Patraiko had a combined 15 saves in a pair of games for the Bulldogs.

Makenzie Craig, Wareham

In two games, Craig had a combined 32 saves for the Vikings.

Kohana Fontinha, Apponequet

In two games, Fontinha had a combined 33 assists, seven kills and six service aces.

Haley Jenkins, Dartmouth

Jenkins had 11 kills and 16 service points, including five aces, in Dartmouth’s win over GNB Voc-Tech. She also had six kills against Barnstable.

Alaina Strozik, Dartmouth

Strozik had a combined 56 assists in a pair of games for Dartmouth.

Kiana Coppa, Fairhaven

Coppa had a combined 15 kills, three aces and 15 digs in two games for Fairhaven.

Elle McCormack, GNB Voc-Tech

McCormack became the third female girls volleyball player at GNB Voc-Tech to surpass 1,000 career assists with 41 in the Bears’ 3-2 win over Apponequet. She also had five aces. Against D-R, she had 28 assists.

Layna Ross, GNB Voc-Tech

In the Bears’ win over Dighton-Rehoboth, she had 16 kills and two blocks.

Narissa Blevines, New Bedford

Blevines had 12 kills, eight service points, four aces and three blocks for New Bedford in a loss to Bishop Stang.

Madison Laughlin, Old Colony

In three games, Laughlin had a combined 10 kills, 11 aces and four blocks.

Aubrie Letourneau, Old Rochester

In two games, Letourneau had a combined 76 assists, 21 digs, 42 service points and 10 aces.

Ava Vander Pol, Old Rochester

Vander Pol had a combined 27 kills in a pair of games for ORR.

Riley Florindo, Wareham

Florindo had 32 digs, 30 service receptions and one ace in a loss to Westport.

Evie Francis, Wareham

In a 3-2 loss to Westport, Francis had 21 kills, 12 digs, one block and six aces.
