VOTE: Shore Softball Player of the Week No. 4, sponsored by Larson Ford

As we enter the final stretch of the regular season, it's been an unpredictable April for Shore softball. There are only three one-loss teams remaining, and two of those are unsurprisingly Red Bank Catholic and St. John Vianney. But 13-1 Point Pleasant Boro has been an incredible story, putting together what may likely go down as the best season in school history.

The variability of resumes and stunning upsets made re-ranking the top teams on the Shore very difficult, and the postseason tournaments will be the ultimate test to separate the real contenders from the field.

Individually, there are plenty of players putting together remarkable individual campaigns that will put them into the Player of the Year conversation. But this past week was highlighted by a few unsung heroes that carried their teams through the dog days of April as teams prepare for the postseason.

The nominees for Player of the Week No.4 are below with summaries of the recent achievements. The poll will close on May 10 at 10 p.m.

Opening Week Winner: Congratulations to Poll No. 1 winner Lily Hagan of Red Bank Catholic, who pulled in 46.73% percent of the votes. The runnerup was Holmdel's Emma Vanario (41.12%).

Week 2 Winner: It was a well deserved win for Morgan O'Sullivan of Red Bank Catholic, who was a clear choice with 54.73% of the vote. The Caseys' two elite pitchers have now taken the first two Player of the Week honors.

Week 3 Winner: Donovan Catholic's Christina Ginex took first, and it's easy to see why after a stretch with 22 RBIs and three home runs in four games. She took 57% of the vote.

Doderer is again a nominee because of her absolutely incredible stretch of play, which has paved the way for the Eagles' 10-game win streak.
