VOTE: Shore Softball Player of the Week No. 5, sponsored by Larson Ford

The Shore Conference Tournament has kicked off, marking the beginning of the postseason as the multitude of contenders will be put to the test. Point Pleasant Borough took the Ocean County title in dramatic fashion, and of course the MVP of that game is one of this week's nominees for Player of the Week.

With several teams making late pushes in an effort to gain momentum, there were several standout performers on the diamond this week. The key for many of these squads will be depth as they aim to make a run in the conference tournament and sectional playoffs, and that depth is displayed in this week's list of nominees as several players have emerged to take on larger roles.

All the nominees for Player of the Week No. 5 are below with summaries of the recent achievements. The poll will close on May 17 at 10 p.m.

Opening Week Winner: Congratulations to Poll No. 1 winner Lily Hagan of Red Bank Catholic, who pulled in 46.73% percent of the votes. The runnerup was Holmdel's Emma Vanario (41.12%).

Week 2 Winner: It was a well deserved win for Morgan O'Sullivan of Red Bank Catholic, who was a clear choice with 54.73% of the vote. The Caseys' two elite pitchers have now taken the first two Player of the Week honors.

Week 3 Winner: Donovan Catholic's Christina Ginex took first, and it's easy to see why after a stretch with 22 RBIs and three home runs in four games. She took 57% of the vote.

Week 4 Winner: BethAnne Doderer of Central Regional has been an elite performer all season and appropriately took first with over 51% of the vote after an incredible six-game span without allowing a run.

Brynn Utter - UT - St. John Vianney - Fr.

The Lancers continue to roll like a freight train through the regular season thanks to the emergence of players like Utter late in the season. The freshman had five RBIs over the past two games, including two in a big road victory over Morris Knolls.

Danni Forrester - OF - Manasquan - Jr.

Forrester has been on a real tear over the past five games. She's gone 10-for-16 with seven RBIs and three home runs as the Warriors have won all five matchups.

Dominique Lopez - OF - Jackson Memorial - Jr.

The Jaguars have struggled to put together a string of wins, but they've been competitive throughout the season thanks to the offense from players like Lopez. She had five RBIs and a home run in the team's win over Toms River East and had eight RBIs over the past four games.

Emily Evans - P - Southern - Jr.

The Rams are 6-0 in the month of May so far and Evans has been a staple of the recent hot streak. She has seven RBIs with a home run over that span in addition to 17 strikeouts on the mound in four games.

Faith Fisher - OF - Central Regional - Jr.

Fisher has been very strong for the Eagles in their three games this month. The junior has gone 7-for-8 with five RBIs and four runs scored as Central Regional remains one of the top contenders in the Shore.

Georgia Tym - C - Point Pleasant Boro - Sr.

Tym was MVP of the Ocean County Tournament final for good reason. Her astute defensive plays were a boon to the Panthers, and that was before she hit an inside-the-park grand slam to seal the victory. She is 9-for-17 with six RBIs in the month of May.

Isabella Cino - UT - Donovan Catholic - Fr.

Cino has delivered in a big way for the Griffins as they've had a multitude of big games this month. The Griffins are 8-0 in May and the freshman amassed 11 RBIs and four home runs over that span.

Jillian Percaccio - OF - Colts Neck - Sr.

Percaccio's offense has been crucial as the Cougars have navigated some difficulties at this point in the regular season. They've won three of their last four and the senior have five RBIs in those three victories.

Ryann Healey - P - Matawan - Sr.

Healey has been excellent for the Huskies over the past four games, going 8-for-12 with nine RBIs and two home runs. She was also on the mound in three of those games, posting 10 or more strikeouts.

Sophia Lasater - OF - Red Bank Catholic - Jr.

Lasater has recorded at least one hit in seven straight games and had four RBIs in the Caseys' previous the wins prior to falling to Mount St. Dominic. That reliable consistency at the plate is the backbone of RBC's success this season.
