Player of the Week results: See who was selected the Week 2 Athens-area winner

After a tight race and more than 10,700 votes, Winder-Barrow's Tyreeck Hall was selected the Athens-area's Week 2 Player of the Week.

In a close battle, Hall received 35% of the votes, followed by Athens Christian's Navy Curry (29.1%), Madison County's Camden Smith (16.7%) and Athens Christian's T.J. Finch (15.7%).

Hall rushed for five scores in the Bulldoggs' 48-0 win over M.L. King.

Vote for the Athens-area's high school football player each week during the regular season. Voting will begin Monday morning and run through 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

WEEK 2 NOMINEES

Chase Berrong, Jackson County

In Jackson County’s 22-7 victory over Duluth, Berrong threw two touchdown passes.

Sammy Brown, Jefferson

In Jefferson's 56-28 win over Wren (SC), Brown rushed for 178 yards and four touchdowns while leading the defense with 10 tackles.

Sam Bush, Athens Academy

In Athens Academy’s 23-7 victory over Mobile Christian (AL), Bush threw two touchdown passes.

Navy Curry, Athens Christian

In Athens Christian’s 42-8 victory over Lakeview Academy, Curry rushed 10 times for 101 yards.

T.J. Finch, Athens Christian

In Athens Christian’s 42-8 victory over Lakeview Academy, Finch rushed 14 times for 108 yards and four touchdowns and returned a fumble 35 yards for a touchdown.

Tyreeck Hall, Winder-Barrow

In Winder-Barrow’s 48-0 victory over M.L. King, Hall rushed for five touchdowns.

Camden Smith, Madison County

In Madison County's 48-34 loss to Elbert County, Smith rushed 10 times for 180 yards and three touchdowns.

Whit Weeks, Oconee County

In Oconee County's 33-9 win, Weeks rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns, returned a kickoff 99 yards for a score and had a pair of sacks and pass deflections on defense.
