ATHLETE OF THE WEEK POLL

Ryan Spate, Boyne City football

Spate returned from injury and put on a dominant performance to bring Boyne City back to the win column in Cheboygan. He rushed for 219 yards and scored twice in the 21-7 victory.

Stefi Reskevics, Harbor Springs cross country

It’s been a huge first season for the Harbor freshman and continued last week. Reskevics earned her second win of the season in the Rams’ hosted invite. She could cruise to the win in 21:04.23. She also set a new PR recently in the Shepherd Invite, posting a time of 19:42.2, good for third in the massive invite.

Braylon Grybauskas, East Jordan football

Back on here for a second straight week, there’s no way for him not to be. The senior wideout hauled in 8 catches for 179 yards and four touchdowns Friday night. He also intercepted a pass and returned it 50 yards for a score.

Josie Wilson, Boyne City volleyball

Wilson is one of many hitters standing out the season for Boyne and finished with 32 kills total last week, along with nine digs. She helped Boyne to an overall title in the Mancelona Invite.

Everett Shepherd, Harbor Springs soccer

Shepherd capped his final regular season as a Harbor soccer player with three goals and two assists, while helping the Rams go 3-0, all in Lake Michigan Conference play.

Ava Tarsi, Boyne City volleyball

There’s been nothing Tarsi can’t do this season and that all-around greatness continued last week in a dual and a tournament. She finished with 101 assists, 29 digs, 12 aces and 15 kills.

Korbyn Russell, East Jordan football

Russell had it all clicking as a passer for the Red Devils last week, finishing the game 10 of 18 passing for 216 yards and five touchdowns. He also ran in a two-point play. All of it came in the first half of a win.

Nora O’Leary, Petoskey cross country

O’Leary has had a strong season and last week came with an all new personal best for the senior. She finished 20th overall within the large Portage Invite and clocked a time of 18:57.7. It’s her first-ever sub 19 minute finish.
