Vote for The Oklahoman's Landmark Fine Homes HS boys athlete of the week for Jan. 2-8

Voting for The Oklahoman's high school boys athletes of the week poll presented by Landmark Fine Homes is now open for Jan. 2-8 in basketball and wrestling.

Fans can vote until noon Sunday. You don't have to be a subscriber to vote. Votes are limited to one per hour, per device.

Putnam City North guard Anthony Leonard won the most recent Dec. 26-Jan. 1 boys basketball poll with 2,640 votes (52.54%). Last week's nominees were solely from basketball due to the holiday break.

Here are this week's nominees.

'We're ready for anybody': Edmond Memorial tops Choctaw to win Bishop McGuinness Classic

Boys basketball

Destin Edwards, So., Community Christian: One of the top guards in the class of 2026 had a grand showing at the Hinton Tournament, where he averaged 19 points and four assists while shooting 48% from deep. Edwards' performance helped the Royals win the tournament, and the sophomore was named tournament MVP.

Hudson Franz, So., Edmond Memorial: Franz was named McGuinness Classic MVP after averaging 13 points and five assists as his efforts helped lift the Bulldogs to win the tournament for the fourth time in nine years.

Roy Henderson, Sr., Midwest City: Henderson helped the Bombers win the Putnam City Invitational and was awarded MVP honors after averaging 19.6 points in the tournament as Midwest City improved to 8-2 on the season.

Carter RomanNose, Jr., El Reno: RomanNose has been an integral factor to El Reno's 8-2 start to the season. RomanNose averaged 14 points, five rebounds, and four assists while leading the Indians to win the Anadarko Tournament. He received tournament MVP honors.

Aiden Todd, Jr,. Bethany: Todd and the Bronchos have been rolling to start the regular season as Bethany remains undefeated heading into the second week of January. The junior was named MVP of the Lincoln Christian Tournament after averaging 26 points and four assists while shooting 54% from the field.

Oklahoma high school wrestling: Edmond North wins 79th annual Geary Invitational

Boys wrestling

Liam Daniels, Sr., Del City: Daniels, who transferred from Edmond North earlier this season, won the 190-pound championship at the Geary Invitational on Saturday.

Lance Eubanks, Sr., Norman: In the midst of a solid senior season, Eubanks claimed the 190-pound championship at the Inola/Army National Guard Invitational last weekend.

Kaiden Herendeen, Jr., Guthrie: He sealed the 113-pound title at the Cushing Tiger Invitational last weekend, edging Blackwell’s Louden Wolfe 4-3 in a tiebreaker in the championship match.

Kody Routledge, Jr., Edmond North: A 157-pounder, he beat Stillwater senior and OU signee Landyn Sommer 4-3 in the finals at the Geary Invitational on Saturday. Sommer went undefeated last year and had a perfect record this season before Saturday. Edmond North won the team crown.

Markus Stewart, Jr., Putnam North: He won the 190-pound title at the Larry Wilkey Invitational last weekend.
