Vote for The Oklahoman's Landmark Fine Homes fall high school athletes of the week

Voting for The Oklahoman's high school athlete of the week poll presented by Landmark Fine Homes is now open for Sept. 3-9 in cross country, fastpitch softball and volleyball. Fans can vote until noon Friday.

Last week's winners were Bethany’s Cole Powell (boys cross country), Guthrie’s Kamryn Boller (girls cross country), Tecumseh’s Serenity Jacoway (fastpitch softball) and Mount St. Mary’s MacKenzi Bass (volleyball).

Here are this week's nominees.

Boys cross country 

Trey Bishop, Jr., Crossings Christian: He placed third in the small school race with a time of 17:46.10 at Oklahoma Baptist University’s meet on Saturday at Gordon Cooper Technology Center in Shawnee.

Zac Rutherford, Sr., Edmond North: He placed second at Moore’s meet Saturday, finishing in 15:53.57.

Brody Woodcock, Sr., Deer Creek: He won the Clay Tarter Invitational in Guthrie on Friday and helped Deer Creek claim the team title. Woodcock finished in 15:42.68.

Girls cross country 

Claire Collins, So., Piedmont: She was the runner-up at Moore’s meet with a time of 19:03.84.

Kinley Kite, Sr., Norman North: She won the Clay Tarter Invitational in Guthrie, completing the run in 19:04.32

Kenzi Readnour, Jr., Pauls Valley: She won the small school race at Oklahoma Baptist University’s meet, completing the two-mile run in 11:45.82. Readnour also won the one-mile run in 6:02.93 at the Arbuckle Conference meet in Marlow on Tuesday and helped Pauls Valley claim the team crown.

Fastpitch softball

Jaiden Coffey, Sr., Deer Creek: As Deer Creek’s pitcher, Coffey allowed only two hits and no runs through seven innings in a 2-0 win against Westmoore. She also went 1-for-2 at the plate with an RBI.

Haley Gallo, Jr., Guthrie: Gallo posted a .625 batting average with 11 RBI and four runs through two wins last week. She had a double and three home runs.

Rylee Hannon, Sr., Mustang: Hannon batted .636 with two RBI, seven hits and four runs as Mustang defeated Choctaw and Skiatook. Her stat line included a triple and three stolen bases.

Volleyball

Ashlynne Hale, So., Christian Heritage: Hale registered a team-high nine kills in CHA’s 3-1 victory against Bethany, spoiling the Bronchos’ undefeated record. She set the tone with the kill that won the first set.

Madi Hathaway, Sr., Edmond Memorial: Hathaway totaled 48 digs, 142 assists and 35 kills as Edmond Memorial won the Heather Harkness Invitational. She was named tournament MVP.

Stella Gorton, Sr., Community Christian: Gorton eclipsed 2,000 career assists as Community Christian won the Catoosa Port City Classic. She also provided 16 kills and 41 digs, receiving tournament MVP honors.
