The weather was far from ideal, but Monroe County Region Athlete produced some great performances last week.

Here are the candidates in alphabetical order:

Vaughn Brown, Erie Mason baseball: Had three hits and walked twice as the Eagles came from behind to win 13-12.

Cameron Cole, SMCC baseball: Hurled a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts in a 2-0 win over Summerfield.

Leila Daniels, Milan softball: Blasted two home runs to spark a comeback win over Ypsilanti Lincoln.

Bret Gennoe, Jefferson baseball: Racked up five hits, including a walk-off, as took a doubleheader from Hazel Park.

Kaylee Imo, Dundee softball: Threw a 2-hit shutout to help the Vikings win their season opener.

Taylor Konkus, Gibraltar Carlson softball: Collected three hits and five RBI in a season-opening win over Riverview.

Sean Langton, Airport baseball: Went 2-for-3 with 4 RBI and earned the victory in a season-opening win over Taylor.

Abby Lechy, SMCC softball: Homered in back-to-back games and picked up two pitching wins.

Logan Loveland, Monroe baseball: Keyed the winning rally with a three-run double against Woodhaven.

Kolby Masserant, Whiteford boys track and field: Set a school record in the long jump with a leap of 21-7.

Jaxon Millican, Ida baseball: Struck out 13 and did not walk a batter in six no-hit innings against Milan.

Unity Nelson, Whiteford softball: Fanned 11 and helped herself with two hits and two RBI in season opener.

Grace Raymond, Summerfield girls track and field: Won the high jump along with the 800 and 1,600 meters to lead her team to two wins.

Isaak Rubley, Dundee boys track and field: Won the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 meters to lead the Vikings to the championship of the Clinton RedWolves Invitational.

Maddie Salenbien, Dundee girls track and field: Won the 100 and 200 meters, took second in the 400 and third in the long jump at the Clinton RedWolves Invitational.

Isabella Thomas, Flat Rock girls soccer: Scored the only goal of the game in a win over Wyandotte Roosevelt Monday, then had a hat trick in a victory over Dearborn Advanced Tech.

Payton Toth, Airport girls soccer: Racked up 5 goals and 6 assists in a pair of wins for the Jets.

Sawyer Ulery, Bedford boys track and field: Won the high hurdles in :15.7 and was third in the 100 meters to help the Mules win the Whitmer Golden W Relays for the first time.
