Meet the Louisville-area high school girls athlete of the week from Bullitt East

Bullitt East senior Lexi Broughton is your girls athlete of the week after a clutch performance last Thursday against Christian Academy of Louisville. The star setter had 54 assists and four service aces in the Chargers 3-2 win over the Centurions.

Sarah Kempf of Sacred Heart volleyball finished second in this week's polls.

Lexi Broughton, Bullitt East, volleyball

Bullitt East's Lexi Broughton had a big week for the Chargers. The senior collected 21 assists and three service aces in the Chargers' 3-0 (25-5, 25-11, 25-8) win against Fern Creek. In Bullitt East's match against Christian Academy, Broughton had 54 assists and four service aces, lifting the Chargers to a 3-2 (25-18, 31-29, 27-29, 21-25, 15-9) win.

Sarah Kempf, Sacred Heart, volleyball

Sacred Heart junior Sarah Kempf held it down for the Valkyries last week. Kempf tallied 68 total assists and 21 digs over three matches.

Lilly Lund, Sacred Heart, soccer

Sacred Heart's Lilly Lund shook up the Atherton defense in last Tuesday's match against the Ravens. The junior scored five goals in the Valkyries' 7-1 victory.

Valerie Solache, Fairdale, soccer

Fairdale junior Valerie Solache would not be denied in last week's match against Fort Knox. The forward scored five goals, leading the Bulldogs to a 12-2 win over Eagles.

Samantha Stinnett, Ballard, soccer

Ballard senior Samantha Stinnett had another remarkable week for the Bruins. The midfielder scored five goals in Ballard's match against New Albany (Ind.). The Bruins left the pitch with a 5-1 win against the Bulldogs. Stinnett also had three assists in Saturday's win against Bullitt Central.
