Meet this week's Louisville-area high school athlete of the week from South Oldham golf
Each week of the high school sports season, The Courier Journal recognizes one exceptional athlete who has gone above and beyond in their sports endeavors. Who will it be this week?
South Oldham junior Griffin Barke is your athlete of the week after a huge performance on the course last week at the Region Six Championships. The star golfer shot a 5-under 67 to finish first.
Ballard football’s Journey Wyche finished second with 242 votes.

Griffin Barke, South Oldham, golf
South Oldham junior Griffin Barke shot a 5-under 67 to finish atop the individual leaderboard at the Region Six Championships at Oxmoor Country Club. His showing helped the Dragons win the first regional title in the history of the school's boys golf program.
Ethan Harris, Kentucky Country Day, football
Kentucky Country Day senior quarterback Ethan Harris accounted for six touchdowns in a 49-26 win over LaRue County. He had four touchdown passes and added two more scores on the ground. Harris completed 71.4% (10 for 14) of his attempts for 252 yards in the 23-point victory.
Cole Hodge, Christian Academy, football
Christian Academy senior quarterback Cole Hodge threw for 363 yards and five touchdowns on 24-of-33 passing (72.7%) in a 54-36 victory over Manual.
Ibrahim Piracha, Manual, soccer
Manual's Ibrahim Piracha accounted for four of the team's eight goals in an 8-2 victory over Jeffersonville.
Journey Wyche, Ballard, football
Ballard senior running back Journey Wyche ran for 190 yards and two touchdowns in a 42-6 win over Tates Creek.
