Meet this week's Louisville-area high school athlete of the week from CAL field hockey
Postseason play can bring out the best in athletes. With many impressive performances taking place in big-time games and matches last week, who had the best outing?
Christian Academy of Louisville senior Callahan Wilson is your athlete of the week after a huge performance in the KHSAA state semifinals against Ballard. The senior scored two goals in CAL’s 3-2 win over the Bruins. The Centurions went on to win its second KHSAA state championship, 3-2, over Assumption.
Sacred Heart’s Nora Dimmitt finished a close second with 333 votes.

Lexi Broughton, Bullitt East, volleyball
Bullitt East's Lexi Broughton had a big week on the court for the Chargers. The senior had one kill, two blocks, 38 assists, six digs and seven aces in Bullitt East's 3-1 (24-26, 25-21, 25-9, 25-19) 24th District tournament semifinal victory over Whitefield Academy. Broughton followed up the outing with two kills, two blocks, 43 assists, seven digs and three aces in the Chargers' 3-2 (25-23, 18-25, 24-26, 25-21, 21-19) win over Mercy in the 24th District Championship.
Lauren Campisano, Assumption, field hockey
Assumption junior Lauren Campisano is having a stellar postseason for the Rockets. The junior scored one goal in Assumption's 2–0 quarterfinal victory to knock out Sacred Heart. She then backed up the outing by scoring a goal in the Rockets' 3-1 semifinal victory over Manual.
Nora Dimmitt, Sacred Heart, soccer
Sacred Heart's Nora Dimmitt is having a breakout postseason for the Valkyries. The junior scored one of two goals in Sacred Heart's 2-1 win over South Oldham in the first round of the KHSAA state tournament. In the second-round match, the forward scored one goal to lift the Valkyries to a 2-0 victory against Bowling Green.
Kristen Schlater, Christian Academy of Louisville, volleyball
Christian Academy's Kristen Schlater had 15 kills and two digs in the Centurions' 3–0 (25-8, 25-12, 25-18) 28th District tournament semifinal victory against Kentucky Country Day. In the 28th District Championship, Schlater racked up 11 kills, two blocks and three digs to help lead CAL to a 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-23) win over Ballard.
Callahan Wilson, Christian Academy of Louisville, field hockey
Christian Academy senior Callahan Wilson went off in Saturday's KHSAA state semifinal game against Ballard. The senior scored the first two goals for CAL, lifting the Centurions to a 3-2 victory over Ballard and advancing to the Kentucky high school state championship.
