Vote for the Bucks County area football Player of the Week for opening week of districts

Who had the best high school football performance in the Courier Times/Intelligencer area in the opening round of the PIAA playoffs?

Quakertown senior Vince Micucci won the Week 10 Player of the Week poll with 44 percent of the vote followed by Pennsbury senior Nate Beighley  with 28 percent.

Here are this week's nominees:

  • Ryan Clemens, Central Bucks West, junior. The running back rushed for 99 yards and two touchdowns and also kicked field goals of 26 and 29 yards in a 27-12 win over Cheltenham in the opening round of the PIAA District One Class 6A playoffs.

  • Stevie Davis, La Salle High, senior. The running back rushed for three touchdowns in a 49-14 victory over Father Judge in a Philadelphia Catholic League semifinal game.

  • Anthony Ferrugio, Quakertown, senior. The tight end/defensive end caught a pair of touchdown passes and also returned an interception for a score in a 36-26 loss to Perkiomen Valley in the opening round of the PIAA District One Class 6A playoffs.

  • Raymond Holman, Morrisville, junior. The running back had a school-record 268 rushing yards on 25 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns in a 20-0 win over Jenkintown in the PIAA District One Class A title game.

  • Sean Moskowitz, Central Bucks South, senior. The linebacker preserved the Titans' 21-20 victory over Coatesville by making a tackle on a two-point conversion try in the final minute in a PIAA District One Class 6A playoff game.

  • Ryan Sadowski, Souderton, senior. The running back scored a pair of rushing touchdowns in the last two minutes to help lift the Big Red to a 21-14 win over Pennsbury in the opening round of the PIAA District One Class 6A playoffs.
