It's time to take a look at the standout performers from Section V.

Your vote will determine who determine who will be the Bill Gray's Athlete of the Week for May 27-June 2. The players' credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Wednesday morning.

This article was published prematurely Sunday with just four candidate, so we will have two honorees this week — one from the first four listed below and another from the remaining six.

Jack Herendeen

The senior attackman helped Victor win its first Section V title since 2019 with three goals and an assist in the Class B final win over Spencerport, then dropped five goals and one assist in Saturday’s state quarterfinal win over Orchard Park for a 10-point week.

Paige Kidd

The junior midfielder at Honeoye Falls-Lima scored two goals in last week’s Section V Class C championship game, then had four goals, two assists and eight draw controls in Saturday’s state quarterfinal win over Lake Shore.

Sam Ricci

The senior faceoff midfielder played a big role in Victor winning its first Section V boys lacrosse title since 2019 by winning 17 of 24 faceoffs against Spencerport. In Saturday’s state quarterfinal win over Orchard Park, Ricci won 13 of 16 faceoffs.

Clare Ruff

The senior midfielder had a solid game of four goals and one assist to help the Honeoye Falls-Lima girls defend their Section V Class C championship, then added a seven-goal game in Saturday’s state quarterfinal win over Lake Shore for a 12-point week.

Makenna Dunbar

Wellsville's sophomore hit a pair of two-run home runs in the Lions' region final victory Saturday. She finished 3-for-5 with six RBIs.

Drew Fishback

Geneva's tennis star advanced to the semifinals of the individual state tournament. He won his first two matches (6-0, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-0) before falling in the semis 6-4, 4-6, 1-6.

Maddie Hicks

Webster Thomas' junior pitcher hit a grand slam in the Titans' region final win Saturday. The pitcher also retired 11 of the final 13 batters.

Tyler Koch

Caledonia-Mumford's golfer led the team to a third straight Section V team championship Friday at Livingston Country Club. Koch shot a team-low 77 to defeat Bloomfield 349-378. Cal-Mum finished the season 22-1.

Sathya Mandava

The Pittsford Sutherland tennis star won his first doubles match of the state tournament with partner Cormac Sullivan 7-5, 6-1 before falling in the second round.
