It's time to take a look at the standout performers from Section V.

Your vote will determine who will be the Advantage Federal Credit Union's Athlete of the Week for Oct. 23-29. The players' credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Wednesday morning.

Derrion Battle

Aquinas junior scored a touchdown as he rushed for 262 yards on 32 carries to help his team defeat Pittsford 24-10 during the Section V Class AA quarterfinals.

Claire Donlon

The Wayland-Cohocton diver scored 401.15 points to capture the Section V Class C diving championship.

Sienna Fallone

The Aquinas' freshman phenom is having a breakout postseason. Fallone scored a goal in the Irish's Section V Class A finals victory, the program's first title since 2017. The center midfielder came off of a two-goal performance in Wednesday's semifinals.

Sarah Ferruzza

Webster Schroeder's setter dished out 25 assists during a straight sets win over Brighton in the Section V quarterfinals. Ferruzza also added four digs for the 15-1 Warriors.

Hannah Governor

The Williamson sophomore was the only girls cross country runner to run the Wayne-Finger Lakes League Championships 5K race at North Rose-Wolcott in less than 20 minutes. She won in a time of 19 minutes, 4 seconds.

Zymier Jackson

East High's senior quarterback was resilient in the Eagles' 28-14 win over Webster Schroeder in the Section V Class A quarterfinals. Jackson threw two touchdown passes to Kelvin Sheppard and Anthony Diaz. After throwing a costly interception, then having two straight passing touchdowns called back, Jackson beat a defender on a 19-yard touchdown run. He completed 16 of 23 pass attempts for 186 yards.

Jamie Kotalik

Pittsford's diving star won the Section V Class A diving title. The 468.20 points Kotalik scored was the top score of Saturday's Class A, B and C championships. Her Pittsford team is hopeful for another Section V team title this weekend.

Lindsay Lenhard

Spencerport's junior forward had two highlight-reel goals and an assists during the Rangers' Section V Class AA win. The title marked a new section record for consecutive crowns with eight.

Tanner Lewis

A senior on the Cuba-Rushford/Hinsdale boys soccer team, he scored both his team's goals in the Section V Class C2 final, a 2-1 victory.

Ryan Mathis

A junior midfielder on the Fairport boys soccer team, he scored five goals in two Section V Class AAA Tournament games, including the game-winner in a 1-0 victory over McQuaid in the final.

Kirsten Matzky

Pittsford Sutherland sophomore field hockey attacker scored four goals to help power the Knights past Brighton 6-1 during the Section V Class B/C Tournament semifinals.

Ava Rice

Pittsford Mendon sophomore field hockey midfielder scored four goals and also finished with an assist during an 8-0 win over Irondequoit in the Section V Class B/C Tournament semifinals.

CJ Robinson

UPrep junior running back scored three touchdowns as he finished with 306 yards on 14 carries during his team's 33-7 win over Penfield during the Section V Class AA quarterfinals.

Hope Russell

Fillmore's girls soccer star scored four goals in leading the Eagles to a 4-0 win in the Section V Class D final.

Brenna Scott

Irondequoit's diver won the Section V Class B diving title. Scott placed first in her class with 424.75 points.

James Tette

The Penn Yan senior won the 5K boys cross country race during the Wayne-Finger Lakes League Championships at North Rose-Wolcott. Next for the three-time Section V Class C champion are sectionals Nov. 4 in Letchworth State Park.

Leyla Tozin

After placing fourth at states in 2022, Tozin returned to place third for her highest finish at the NYS singles tournament. The Brighton junior advanced to the state semifinals before falling to the third place match, where she defeated the 2022 state champion 3-0 (retired).

Luke Zimmermann

The versatile junior recorded 40 digs as McQuaid edged Victor in a thrilling five-set Section V Class A quarterfinal win. The Knights won the first set 31-29 and the fifth set 18-16.
