It's time to take a look at the standout performers from Section V.

Your vote will determine who will be the Advantage Federal Credit Union's Girls Sports Athlete of the Week for Jan. 15-21. The players' credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Wednesday morning.

All athletes who play on Section V girls teams are eligible to be nominated.

Shaye Angelo

Angelo knocked down six 3-pointers en route to 30 points in Honeoye Falls-Lima’s victory over Gates Chili. The 30-point effort is a new career high.

Julia Belanger

Belanger scored the go-ahead basket with 20.1 seconds remaining to lift Palmyra-Macedon girls basketball over Newark in a battle of two Class A contenders. She finished the game with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.

Jayla Bell

The Lyons girls basketball star opened her week with a triple-double (31 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists) versus North Rose-Wolcott, then followed with a quadruple-double (15 points, 14 rebounds, 11 assists, 10 steals) against Greece Arcadia/Olympia.

Avery Brunner

The Pittsford Mendon freshman had a weight throw of 46 feet-3 1/4 inches to win the event during a Monroe County league meet at Rochester Institute of Technology.

Jane Carey

The Webster Thomas junior put the shot to 36 feet-9.75, a season-best in Section V, during a Monroe County league meet at Rochester Institute of Technology,

Reese Cialini

The Penfield junior is fourth on the Section V girls indoor track 300- and 55-meter dash leaderboards after she won those races in 42.53 seconds and 7.34 seconds during a Monroe County league meet.

Kaysia Jones

Jones racked up 51 points, 10 assists, 10 steals across two games for Edison Tech, pushing the Inventors to wins over Franklin/Northeast and Wayne.

Ari Reback

The Fairport senior distance runner won the 1,500-meter race during a Monroe County league meet in 4 minutes, 58.03 seconds. She also ran the anchor or final leg on the team's first-place 1,600 relay. Reback's victory was the fourth-fastest 1,500 of the season in Section V.

Jah’zell Strong

The Young Women College Prep girls basketball star set a new program single-game record for points (37) and 3-pointers made (nine).

Aurora Yantz

The Rush-Henrietta bowling star rolled the high-series at the MLK Tournament, shooting a 1,216 six-game series. Yantz's high-game was a 226.
