It's time to take a look at the standout performers from Section V.

Your vote will determine who will be the Advantage Federal Credit Union's Boys Sports Athlete of the Week for March 25-31. The players' credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Wednesday morning.

All athletes who play on Section V boys teams are eligible to be nominated.

Shaun Alexander

Oakfield-Alabama outfielder, a senior, had five runs batted in as he produced five hits in five at-bats - including a triple and a double - scored five runs and stole three bases during a lopsided win for the Hornets.

Logan Bulman

Sodus senior had 12 strikeouts in six innings pitched to help the Spartans open the season with a double-digit win.

Michael Calogero

Aquinas junior struck out five batters in four innings, hit a triple and scored two runs during the team's win to open the season.

Walter Cartagena

Monroe senior drove in three runs as he went 4 for 4 and struck out 7 batters as he allowed three runs during a runaway win for the Red Jackets.

Logan Caves

North Rose-Wolcott senior struck out 11 batters in 4 innings, had 2 runs batted in and finished 2 for 3 during a runaway win for the Cougars.

Matt Clark

Wayland-Cohocton junior struck out 8 batters in 5 2/3 innings and whacked out 4 hits, including a RBI-single during a 4-2 win over LeRoy in the team's season-opener.

Mikey Crandall

Finney pitcher struck out the first nine batters he faced and finished with 16, as he allowed two hits during a win over Naples.

Phillip Dotterweich

Geneseo junior stuck out 11 batters in four innings during a shutout win for the Blue Devils. He also scored twice and stole two bases.

Braden Fingar

Fingar had the game-winning goal in the third overtime, to finish off a 4-goal, 3-assist day, as Penn Yan defeated Section III power Westhill on Saturday.

Conor Forkey

McQuaid sophomore pitched 5 innings, struck out 6 batters and allowed 1 earned run during a game in Vero Beach, Florida. He drove in a run in the team's season-opener, the day before.

John Harding

McQuaid knocked off two section finalists from last spring, thanks to the scoring efforts of Harding. The Knights’ senior had a goal and an assist in an 8-7 win over reigning Class A champion Pittsford on Thursday, then tallied eight goals in a victory over Aquinas on Saturday.

Griffin Hilimire

Mynderse’s attackman buried 9 goals and added 2 assists as the Blue Devils defeated Haverling in their season opener.

Evan Laird

Sodus sophomore drove in three runs, scored three runs and walked once, as he went 2 for 3 with a triple in the team's season-opener.

Jayden Mandarano

Mandarano, a junior attack at Spencerport, posted 7 goals and 3 assists in a win against Wayne on Friday.

Miguel Matos

East High senior was the winner pitcher as a reliever in the Eagles' season-opener, a game where he also hit a RBI-single. He struck out five batters in 2 2/3 innings, then was 2-for-2 at the plate and scored twice during another victory for the Eagles.

Henry Shutts

Gananda won its season-opener 4-2 after sophomore pitcher struck out 10 batters, allowed three hits and a walk.

Gage Thomas

Bath Haverling sophomore pitcher/infielder struck out 7 batters in 4 1/3 innings, did allow 2 runs, but drove in 1 with his bat during a three-hit game for him at the plate. The Rams defeated Hornell 11-2.
