Crescent softball's Emily Blackwell is the 864Huddle Upstate high school athlete of the week

With the softball Upper State championships and four of the five classifications competing in the track and field state championships this past week, the Upstate saw plenty of top performances.

But with 94% of the overall vote, one of the eight nominated athletes stood above the rest: Crescent softball's Emily Blackwell, a senior and North Greenville signee.

With a combined 7-for-8 from the plate, seven stolen bases, and three RBIs — including a walk-off hit to beat Wren, 2-1 — to lead the Tigers back to the state championship series, Blackwell is the 864Huddle Upstate Athlete of the Week for May 15-21.
