Virginia Wesleyan unveils new golf facility: ‘a program-changing addition’

Virginia Wesleyan University golfers this week are taking swings in what coach Tom Hall calls a “program-changing addition.”

The new Eric Nyman Performance Golf Center features a team room and two golf bays with different simulators: the Foresight Sports GC Quad system captures swing, club and ball-striking analytics and the Foresight Falcon, an overhead-mounted launch monitor, provides instantaneous ball flight and club data after each shot.

The golf center was built with a donation from Eric C. Nyman, a VWU Trustee and 1994 graduate. He is the CEO of Vista Outdoor Inc., whose sports and outdoor brands include Foresight Sports.

“The system that we are getting from Foresight Sports is amazing and will change the way our program is able to prepare,” Hall, director of VWU’s men’s and women’s programs, said in a release from the school. “… The data that we’ll be able to collect on each player’s performance will allow us to maximize their abilities. The scope of this system will change the way team members practice, when they practice and how they practice. It is a program-changing addition.”
