The Mossyrock girls basketball team dominated down south on Thursday, easily handling Columbia Adventist for a 60-23 win.

The Vikings allowed just six points in the third quarter and blanked the Kodiaks in the fourth, allowing them to pull away for the blowout win.

"We came out and played tough defense tonight which made it difficult for Columbia Adventist to get into their offense," Mossyrock coach Autumn Moorcroft said. "In return it created opportunities for us to create turnovers and get into a rhythm ourselves."

Four Vikings (7-6, 4-0 1B Columbia Valley) finished in double figures, led by Chesney Schultz with 10. Adyson Barrows, Renzy Marshall and Delaney Marshall all added 10 each, and Renzy Marshall tallied 10 rebounds to record a double-double.

Schultz just missed out on a double-double of her own, as she finished with nine rebounds. As a team, the Vikings won the rebound battle 54-25.

Mossyrock also tallied 33 steals, led by Taylor Schwartz with eight. Renzy Marshall came away with six, white Delaney Marshall and Abbie Lovan logged five and Areonna France grabbed four.

The Vikings are off for the next seven days, and they're back in action next Friday at Willapa Valley.
