Vikings coach Mike Zimmer talks about Jaguars QB Mike Glennon

Despite Gardner Minshew being healthy, the Jaguars named Mike Glennon their starter for the Minnesota game.

Glennon isn’t exactly an electrifying quarterback, but he did keep Jacksonville pretty competitive against Cleveland.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer talked about that game.

“I thought he played well,” Zimmer said, via the Vikings’ Twitter account. “You can tell he’s got a veteran presence. He’s got a good arm. Throws the ball down the field — on several occasions last week. He moved out of the pocket a couple times. You can just tell he’s done it and seen the different things and how he handles the rest of the offense.”

Glennon finished with 235 passing yards, two touchdown passes and zero interceptions against the Browns. If he has a similar day against the Vikings defense, Minnesota could be looking at a disappointing loss.

It comes down to whether the Vikings new-look secondary will hold off a quarterback who’s capable of running an offense effectively. If Minnesota loses this game, it’s hard to see the postseason as a possibility still.
