Vikings activate Harrison Smith, promote Joe Banyard
The Minnesota Vikings activated safety Harrison Smith from injured reserve-designated to return and placed cornerback Josh Robinson on injured reserve.
With running backs Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhart questionable, the Vikings promoted running back Joe Banyard from the practice squad. Peterson is regarded as a potential scratch.
The Vikings also promoted cornerback Robert Steeples from the practice squad and cut offensive tackle Mike Remmers.
