Note: On a night the No. 13 Catamounts broke the Hockey East regular-season attendance record (2,705) for their annual "Pack the Gut Challenge", No. 15 Boston College played spoiler with a rousing comeback. The Eagles trailed 3-0 in the second period and stormed behind with a five-goal third.

Men’s hockey

Note: No. 14 Massachusetts scored three times in the third period to open a 4-0 lead on the visiting Catamounts.

Note: Host Providence used a 20-7 second-quarter edge to control.

Note: Skelton scored the game-winning goal with 2:14 left in regulation as No. 13 ranked Vermont (6-4-1) earned a weekend split with No. 15 Boston College. Correa also had a big game in net, in place of starting goaltender Jessie McPherson, who is is out "week-to-week with a lower body injury," according to a UVM spokesperson.

Note: Visiting Vermont fired in six unanswered goals to storm past No. 14 Massachusetts. Richards' hat trick was the first of his collegiate career.

Men’s basketball

Note: Vermont shot 36 of 59 (61%) from the field and held D-III Plattsburgh to 16 of 55 shooting (29.1%). Vermont also gained a 46-18 edge on the glass, had 25 assists and scored 40 bench points to Plattsburgh's 15 in the wire-to-wire win. The host Catamounts led 51-16 at the break.
