Vanderbilt final score, recap vs. Alabama A&M in college basketball game

Vanderbilt basketball got a bounce-back win over Alabama A&M on Saturday at Memorial Gymnasium.

Despite a slow start, the Commodores (4-4) pulled away in the second half to blow out the Bulldogs (1-6), 78-59. Five Vanderbilt players scored in double digits, led by a double-double from Ven-Allen Lubin (14 points, 10 rebounds), 19 points from Tyrin Lawrence, 12 points from Ezra Manjon and 10 apiece from Jason Rivera-Torres and Evan Taylor.

The Commodores were aided by getting to the free-throw line 34 times, though they made just 24 of those free throws. Vanderbilt held Alabama A&M to a 29% performance from the field. They continued to be without Lee Dort (suspension) and Colin Smith (concussion).

With that win under their belts, Vanderbilt will face San Francisco on Wednesday at 7 p.m. CT (SEC Network+).
