Vanderbilt baseball dips into transfer portal again

Vanderbilt baseball coach Tim Corbin, famous for his underutilization of the transfer portal, landed his fourth transfer in UMass Lowell's Jacob Humphrey.

Sawyer Hawks, Jayden Davis and Levi Huesman are the other three members of Vanderbilt's 2024 transfer class.

Humphrey, a junior, recorded staggering numbers in his first two years with the River Hawks, recording a .337 and .317 batting average in his first two years, along with 79 stolen bases. Humphrey has 11 home runs in his college career.

The utility player has experience playing center field, second base, shortstop and right field. It's unclear where he'll play in the upcoming season, but he should fare well as a quality candidate for the outfield.

Humphrey is joining a roster that has yet to find its standout star, but is littered with promising talent. Calvin Hewett, JD Rogers, Troy LaNeve and Matthew Polk are among his top competitors this offseason.
