UWS men's hockey blanked in Eau Claire

Dec. 1—EAU CLAIRE — Wisconsin-Eau Claire goaltender Max Gutjahr made all 23 saves he was called upon to make as the Blugolds shut out Wisconsin-Superior 4-0 in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's hockey on Friday night, Dec. 1.

Former Duluth Marshall Hilltopper Willy Stauber set the tone by scoring his second goal of the season for UWEC, a power play tally with 1:04 remaining in the first period. Ryan Green doubled the lead in the second period, and Kyle Oleksiuk and Austin Becker tacked on goals in the third period.

UWS was unable to get a puck past Gutjahr despite having a 23-19 advantage in shots on goal. Jack Boschert made 15 saves for UWS (5-6-0, 3-2-0 WIAC). The Yellowjackets continued their road weekend at Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Saturday, Dec. 2.
