The UTEP women hope it won't be too difficult, as a final-day upset (New Mexico State winning at Florida International) shook up the Conference USA standings and put the Miners in a first-round game as a No. 8 seed against No. 9 Sam Houston.

The Miners swept Sam Houston in the regular season, including UTEP's only road victory of the year when it beat the Bearkats 82-66 last month. Sam Houston was the only team UTEP swept.
This will mark the CUSA tournament's debut in Huntsville, Ala. after a three-year run in Frisco, Texas.
