UTEP Miners basketball open 2023 season with win at home

UTEP men's and women's basketball had a successful season opener at home Monday, Nov. 6, at the Don Haskins Center.
Keitha Adams returned as head coach of the Lady Miners for a "new" era, with a 75-58 season-opening win against Western New Mexico.
The UTEP men's basketball team defeated Division III McMurry 120-71 Monday evening in its season opener. The Miners' 120 points was the second most in program history (they had 121 in a 2000 game against New Mexico Highlands), as 12 of their 13 players scored.
The men return to the Don Haskins 7 p.m. Thursday to play against the University of Science and Arts Oklahoma, while the women play 4 p.m. Saturday against Missouri-Kansas City.
