US men's national soccer team friendly vs. Germany: Live stream and TV info, USMNT roster

The U.S. men's national soccer team will play friendlies against Germany and Ghana during FIFA's scheduled October international break.

Coach Gregg Berhalter has maintained some roster continuity from the group that scored easy wins over Uzbekistan and Oman during the September international window, with 19 of the 23 players from that group also called into the October camp. Many players on the roster enter the international break after a banner weekend with their respective club teams.

Among the most notable newcomers for the USMNT is midfielder Lennard Maloney, who plays for FC Heidenheim in the German Bundesliga. Maloney is the first-ever international call-up for Heidenheim, which won promotion to the Bundesliga last season.

The USMNT's opponent on Saturday — Germany — is operating under a new coach, Julian Nagelsmann. Nagelsmann took over as head coach of Die Mannschaft last month after Hansi Flick became the first Germany men’s national team head coach to be fired since the position was created in 1926. Flick's disappointing tenure ended after a 4-1 loss to Japan in a friendly on Sept. 9, which was Germany's fifth game in a row without a win. Germany has just five wins in its last 18 games. That run included crashing out of the 2022 World Cup in the group stage. It was the second World Cup in which Germany failed to advance to the knockout stage after winning the tournament in 2014.

Germany's U.S. tour during the October international window also includes a matchup with another Concacaf stalwart, Mexico. That game will take place on Tuesday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

The USMNT will play Ghana on Tuesday at GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tennessee (8:30 p.m. ET on TNT and Universo).
