Unlike Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd won’t change Bengals jersey number
Cincinnati Bengals wideout Tyler Boyd sees some of the theories and chatter in the wake of fellow wideout Tee Higgins changing his number from No. 85 to No. 5 starting next season.
But Boyd sent a quick message on Twitter shooting down the idea he would change numbers too: “Hate to break it to y’all but 83 the closest y’all gone get.”
The most popular theory, of course, is that Boyd should change to No. 3. In tandem with Ja’Marr Chase and Higgins, the Bengals wideouts would then have Joe Burrow throwing to the “513” trio.
As fun as the idea of Burrow throwing to the city-based area code might be, it seems like everyone will have to settle for No. 1, No. 5 and No. 83 in 2023.
