UNC football 2024 recruiting update: Who has picked the Tar Heels so far?

North Carolina football coach Mack Brown is pleased with the Tar Heels’ early effort in the 2024 recruiting class.

“We’ve got a lot of momentum. … We’re gonna finish with a lot of momentum,” Brown said recently in a press conference at Kenan Football Center.

UNC now has 20 commitments in its 2024 recruiting class, matching Duke and Georgia Tech for the most among ACC programs. As of Monday morning, UNC’s group comes in at No. 15 in the nation, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. The Tar Heels are second behind Clemson in the ACC.

“I’m really excited where this class is and they’re coming together,” Brown said.

“It’s funny, boosters will tell me, ‘I don’t like him.’ Well, maybe, you’ve seen him on three clips of video. We’ve got 12 people that watch every player. … There’s 12 evaluations that are written up separately before it ever comes to me.”

Zion Ferguson, a defensive back who originally committed to LSU, tops the list as the highest-ranked recruit. Running back Davion Gause is Carolina’s other four-star commitment.
