UNC basketball commit signs NIL deal with addias

North Carolina’s 2024 recruiting class is ranked n the top 10 for that cycle, lead by five-star recruits Ian Jackson and Drake Powell. They are joined by three-star center James Brown as the future of the program will be on campus later this year.

But before they arrive in Chapel Hill, they are finishing out their high school careers in a big way. For Jackson, he’s been stellar for Team Jelly Fam in the Overtime Elite League and continues to raise his stock.

This week, Jackson added something to his resume that’s off the court. He signed a NIL deal with Adidas. Jackson was one of four players in the OTE to earn a deal with Adidas.

He joined Kartner Knox, Mikel Brown Jr., and Adam Oumiddoch to get the deals as ambassadors.

Now, this is normal these days with the NIL rules as it allows players to earn money based on their name, image and likeness. Where it’s a little interesting is that UNC is a Jordan Brand school. That means when Jackson hits Chapel Hill later this year, he won’t be able to wear Adidas gear on the court but can outside of the stadium and off the court.
